Preparing All Students for College and/or Careers by Creating Quality Assignments
All students need assignments and high-quality instruction aligned to grade-level college- and career-readiness standards in academic and career and technical education (CTE) courses. Participants will be introduced to The Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC), the Mathematics Design Collaborative (MDC) and project-based assignments which are keys to improving the quality of assignments in academic and CTE courses.
Participants will create a lesson which can be used the first week of school using these standards based approach to lesson design. Throughout the day long workshop, participants will use a variety of instructional strategies which help teachers tap into students’ interests and abilities to help them absorb academic and career/technical subjects which will improve their chances of success in college and careers.
An opportunity for $150 stipends will be available to the first 60 participants. An option to apply for the stipend will be available on the registration form.
