The Illinois Essential Employability Skills Framework
Developed through a collaboration of the Illinois Community College Board, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, business leaders, educators, and government representatives, the Illinois Essential Employability Skills Framework was designed to define and clarify essential employability skills and act as a state standard. Essential employability skills, often referred to as soft skills, are those general skills required to be successful in all sectors of the labor market and are distinct from the technical skills attained in career pathways or academic skills such as math and reading. The session will feature presentation of the framework followed by facilitated discussion.
