Tiger Trends Boutique Teaches Work Skills, Improves Attendance and Esteem While Helping Clothe Struggling Students

Paris High School has found a way to help many youth in the community living in poverty feel more like coming to school by creating an on-site boutique in a vacant classroom. Donated clothing is laundered, sorted, and sized for students to shop free of charge for the items they need. STEP students learn job skills in the boutique such as organization, sizing, laundering, ironing, marketing, basic clothing repair, & customer service. Personal supplies are also purchased with local donations. A laundry service is available for students who need this service. Come learn more about the Tiger Trends Boutique from Counselor Staci Skelton, Prevocational Coordinator Jayne Brown, and Job Coach Lisa Norman.
