Title:

NAVIGATE to College or Career, With Free Curriculum Materials From the Federal Reserve Bank

Abstract:

As students consider their college and career options, they will also be thinking about the costs and benefits of various alternatives. Financial constraints will be a big factor in their economic decision-making. How can teachers help them plan? How can the classroom provide the right information? Good news! NAVIGATE is a free, teacher-tested curriculum package from the Federal Reserve Bank that addresses college and career decision-making. This session will examine the content of NAVIGATE's lessons, and participants will experience how the lessons will work in their own middle school or high school classrooms. Each participant will receive both a teacher and student copy of NAVIGATE.

Presenters:

Sheryl Szot Gallaher, University of St. Francis, Joliet
